Nigel Dennis

CPP APMP Fellow Director

Nigel is a co-founder and director of BidWrite. He is considered a leading consultant in the proposal management profession in Australia. He also has a significant presence and reputation on the international stage having presented at seven annual world proposal management conferences since 2008.

Since writing his first proposal in 1994, Nigel has combined his background in engineering, studies in marketing and interest in writing to help organisations win hundreds of bids and billions of contract dollars across most industries. Strengths include bid strategy development, bid management, bid planning, writing, editing, coaching and training. He knows what it takes to win. 

As a strong advocate for development of the profession, Nigel started the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) chapter in Australia and New Zealand in 2008 and has served on the chapter board every year since then. He was the Chapter Chair from 2012 to 2015 and is the current Certification Chair. From 2011 to 2013 he also served a 3-year term on the international APMP Board of Directors, the only Australian to date to be appointed to that board.

Nigel was the first Australian to achieve the APMP’s highest level of professional certification (CPP APMP) as a recognised proposal professional and thought leader. In 2015 he was also made a Fellow of the APMP for his outstanding contributions to the proposal profession.

David Lunn

MCIPS, CF APMP Director

David is a co-founder and director of BidWrite. He has been a procurement professional since 1987 with experience in minerals processing, oil and gas and public sectors. David specialises in strategic sourcing, tendering, contracting and transactional procurement – across capital project, operations and maintenance environments.

Since forming BidWrite David has also progressively developed and implemented services and products supporting organisations seeking to win more work using his “other side” experiences.

David Harvey

CF APMP Director

David excels at building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues, and is a highly respected bid consultant. One of his key strengths is his ability to quickly understand the key drivers in a business – a skill that has proven invaluable when articulating competitive advantage and major strategy in bid situations.

He is also an experienced senior manager in the fields of systems engineering, sustainment logistics and workforce management, with a strong background in aerospace, defence and software. Successful outcomes have been achieved in a broad range of disciplines including program management, program and engineering analysis and review, strategy development, organisational development and business improvement.

Rodger Manning

CP APMP Managing Consultant

Rodger is a trained senior bid manager with 18 years of international proposal management, business development and project management experience within a variety of industries, including defence, ICT, mining, construction, engineering, and professional services. He is experienced working with both large and small companies and gains as much satisfaction helping a family company win a half million dollar contract, as the billion dollar contracts he has helped international companies win.

His extensive technical and commercial experience enables him to develop, sell, negotiate and deliver proposals, strategies and solutions to a broad range of stakeholders, including clients, executive management, partners, suppliers and shareholders.

Through his collaborative leadership style, combined with a passion and enthusiasm for the demands of bid management, Rodger has successfully managed multi-disciplinary bid teams across all stages of the process to deliver success.

Mark Riley

CF APMP Managing Consultant

Mark brings over 20 years’ bid management experience across Australia, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong.

His experience includes working for internationally renowned proposal expert Tom Sant at what was then The Sant Corporation for over 4 years. During this time, Mark helped over 40 companies implement bid improvement initiatives that successfully increased the efficiency or effectiveness of sales teams.Mark’s background in engineering geology helps him to extract and communicate client-centric, value-driven concepts from complex information.

He has worked across a range of industries including engineering, corporate travel, construction and property services, most recently as Director of Bid Development at Jones Lang LaSalle.

He enjoys using his knowledge, focus and creativity to help bid teams define and execute effective win strategies.

Kelly Richmond

CP APMP Senior Bid Consultant

Kelly has over 20 years’ experience managing high level communications projects including written proposals, websites, community engagement strategies, internal communications, and publications, for both state government and private organisations.

With 15 years’ experience issuing, assessing and writing winning tender, grant and award submissions both from and to government and private industry, Kelly has an excellent insight and understanding of concise and strategic bidding, and a keen eye for detail.

Kelly is passionate about educating clients to improve their tendering capability and win more work.

Cathlin Russell

CP APMP Senior Bid Consultant

Cathlin has 13 years’ experience in both business and consumer marketing, communication, sales and business development. A chance to work as a Bid Centre Coordinator for Australia’s largest integrated facilities management company led to a new passion for the tendering environment.

As a Bid Consultant, Cathlin enjoys the diversity of working across a wide variety of industries, is passionate about persuasive writing and loves the challenge of assisting her clients to win. With experience in managing, coordinating and writing well over 100 tender submissions to government and private industry, Cathlin has an excellent understanding of what is required for submitting a winning bid.

Mark King

CF APMP Bid Consultant

Mark is very well acquainted with writing and managing tenders, proposals and bids. During his 9 years with a major Australian defence contractor, Mark led and contributed to numerous multi-million dollar Defence, ICT and State/Federal Government tender responses; amassing an impressive 80+% win-rate for a three-year period with the largest valued at over $100m. 

During his subsequent 6 years with a major WA safety induction provider, Mark established a new e-learning division and managed numerous tender responses to clients in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Government sectors as well as competitive applications for government funding.

In supporting bid responses, Mark excels at getting the very best out of his clients and teams by providing bid strategy, structure, drafting and ongoing coaching support at all stages of the response creation and delivery process.

Mark holds science, project management and training qualifications, is working toward his MBA, and has enthusiastically embraced the APMP and its certification pathway.

Richard Southern

CF APMP Bid Consultant

Richard has a strong background in professional writing. His skills have been put to use in corporate, government and not-for-profit organisations where he has produced tender submissions, technical and procedure documents, internal and external communication materials, grant applications, media releases, published articles and website content.

Richard is skilled in translating complex documents and inputs from subject matter experts into easily understood formats, and has experience with technical procedure document writing and editing and internal process development.

Carolyne Huber

Carolyne is an experienced tender manager, proposal writer, and business development professional who has worked within a variety of sectors including engineering, aerospace, defence, security and professional services in Australia, France, and Canada.

Her client relations experience has equipped her with an excellent understanding of how to culturally meet and exceed client expectations throughout the entire tender process.

Alex Costantini

CF APMP Bid Consultant

Alex has always had an interest and passion for professional and academic writing and with experience in marketing, business development and tender/grant writing. He worked for a number of years as the lead writer in a tender team for a not-for-profit in the human services industry. Here he produced and delivered major submissions for both Federal and State programs.

Alex brings to his role an expertise in science and information technology, having studied Neuroimmunology and Pharmacology at university. This background gives him the skillset to quickly and accurately digest technical content on a range of topics during bids.

As a Bid Consultant, Alex enjoys the challenge of working across multiple industries, in the deadline-driven environment that the job necessitates.

Nicole Kelly

CF APMP Bid Coordinator

Nicole has six years of experience within the tendering and submissions environment across a range of sectors (both government and private). Having completed APMP Training in March 2016, she is now a certified Foundation Level proposal professional. Nicole understands client needs, has an organised work ethic, plus high attention to detail. She enjoys learning all about each customer’s business and looks forward to assisting her clients throughout the tender process.

With excellent communication skills, flexibility, resourcefulness, ability to ensure all information is understood, Nicole is able to complete requirements, comfortably work to deadlines and quickly builds rapport with participants at all levels. 

Nicole Coleman

CF APMP Bid Consultant

Nicole has over 5 years of experience coordinating and writing a variety of proposals, specialising in the civil engineering and construction. With the ability to effectively engage subject matter experts and quickly understand technical subject matter, she can communicate complex solutions in an easy to understand manner.

With this experience, and formal qualifications in Environmental Management and Internal Auditing, Nicole brings industry insight, an eye for detail and an excellent understanding of what is required to coordinate and write winning proposals to our team.

Mandy Xie

Bid Coordinator

Mandy has a background in public relations and strategic communications, always maintaining a steady interest in persuasive writing.

With proven experience consulting at freelance and agency capacities, she has worked with clients within built environments, design, social entrepreneurship and purpose driven business. Mandy understands the importance of stakeholder engagement, comfortably liaising with all levels of businesses to better understand and interpret their needs.

Utilising her visual principles and creative flair, Mandy brings an attention to detail specific to visual communication.

Persisting towards an APMP training certification, Mandy aims to better aid our clients understanding of the submission process and creating better tenders.

Jane Williams

Bid Consultant

Jane has more than 20 years of professional writing experience translating complex language and ideas into concise, persuasive messages for organisations across Australia, Asia and the Middle East. She is adept at cutting through technical texts and working with people to quickly identify the crux of a story, and repackaging it in a clear, convincing, client-centric format.

As a former journalist and communications professional, Jane has experience writing for a range of sectors including education, media, energy and professional services. She has worked for Thomson Reuters, INSEAD and the Australian Associated Press (AAP) and had her work published in leading publications globally including: The Australian, the South China Morning Post, FT and The Straits Times.

As a bid consultant, Jane uses these skills to give her clients a winning edge. She loves the challenge of collaborating with companies and helping them adopt best practice techniques to present themselves in the most positive light within a competitive environment.

Edgar Lemos

Bid Design Consultant

Edgar has over ten years of experience working as a graphic designer and creative in advertising agencies in both Australia and South America. This experience has granted him the opportunity to work for a range of clients from small companies to multinational corporations across various industries including fast moving consumer goods, finance, automotive, and military.

With a passion for clean and modern design, Edgar’s understanding of visual communication ensures each client’s message or idea is delivered in an efficient, memorable, and appealing way. His typographic expertise also guarantees even the heaviest body of technical text is friendly, readable, and engaging.

Jehan Eltigi

Bid Consultant

Jehan brings more than 25 years of experience in communications, marketing and market research across six countries in four continents. With training in project management and a deep respect for deadlines instilled during her early career as a journalist, she has experienced the world of tendering as both buyer and seller for government entities and the private sector. She has worked across multiple sectors including Australian and New Zealand local government, international satellite telecommunications, healthcare, fast moving consumer goods, transportation, media, financial services, big brand retail, and mining services.

Jehan holds a Masters and a Bachelor Degree in Communications and has published several papers in leading international communications journals and publications.

Outside work, she is a voracious reader and spends her evenings in her favourite recliner reading anything and everything. An avid traveller, she has visited 30 countries on business or holiday including fascinating destinations such as Luxembourg, Angola, Ethiopia, and Azerbaijan.
